چکیده

We report on recent developments on stochastic chain modelling of inter-dependent network infrastructures. The problem is approached in the spirit of the Leontief tradition within the framework of the Inoperability Input/Output Modelling [6] where, instead of dealing with the sector products, inoperabilities are introduced to describe the status of the global system. A Markov Chain evolution law replaces Leontief equilibrium condition upon external changes, thus allowing to follow the transition from an equilibrium configuration to an other and possibly mimic cascade effects triggered by unwilled disturbances. Moreover, as a variation to the “System of Systems” approach, each network is not treated like an holomorphic entity, but its inner structure is inspected. Multiple implementations of the same scenarios at different level of granularity have been compared providing evidence for intrinsic inconsistency of models disregarding the geographic distribution of networks.

A Bi-level Formulation for Centralized Resource Allocation DEA Models

In this paper, the common centralized DEA models are extended to the bi-level centralized resource allocation (CRA) models based on revenue efficiency. Based on the Karush–Kuhn–Tucker (KKT) conditions, the bi-level CRA model is reduced to a one-level mathematical program subject to complementarity constraints (MPCC). A recurrent neural network is developed for solving this one-level mathematica...

Modeling gene regulatory networks: Classical models, optimal perturbation for identification of network

Deep understanding of molecular biology has allowed emergence of new technologies like DNA decryption.  On the other hand, advancements of molecular biology have made manipulation of genetic systems simpler than ever; this promises extraordinary progress in biological, medical and biotechnological applications.  This is not an unrealistic goal since genes which are regulated by gene regulatory ...

Supply and demand biases in linear interindustry models

a r t i c l e i n f o We explore the sectoral and aggregate implications of some endogeneization rules (i.e. on value-added and final demand) which have been common in the extended demand-driven Leontief model and have been recently proposed in the supply-driven Ghosh model. Extended linear models are refinements that aim at endowing the linear models with additional general equilibrium feedbac...

A Robust Reliable Forward-reverse Supply Chain Network Design Model under Parameter and Disruption Uncertainties

Social responsibility is a key factor that could result in success and achieving great benefits for supply chains. Responsiveness and reliability are important social responsibility measures for consumers and all stakeholders that strategists and company managers should be concerned about them in long-term planning horizon. Although, presence of uncertainties as an intrinsic part of supply chai...
